Teammates Demonstrate Perseverance and Positivity to Bring Home Top Finishes
Oakwood, ON (March 29, 2017) – Karkoulas Sisters Racing (KSR) donned their rain coats and geared up for a great weekend of racing in the rain at Chicopee Ski Resort in Kitchener, ON. This past weekend marked the second last race of the Canadian Snowcross Racing Association (CSRA) championship, with finals scheduled for next weekend at Horseshoe Valley Resort in Barrie.
ZOE #502
Despite a very small, relatively flat 120 track, Zoe was all smiles racing in the Stock 2 and Briggs 6-8 races. Mom and Dad were especially proud of Zoe’s quick maneuvering around a 180 degree turn at the start of the track that saw multiple riders in many races tangled and at a standstill.
DAKOTA #501
Dakota demonstrated solid racing in the Transition mixed, Novice A and Transition Girls classes and continues to amaze her friends and family with her ability to adjust and persevere. With this particular track, there was a blind spot behind the trees that blocked riders from view. Dakota was missing for a short time during a race leaving her teammates wondering what occurred. After the checkered flag flew, Dakota got off her sled with a big smile on her face. When asked why she had disappeared, she explained that she fell off and her sled started rolling down a hill. When asked what she did, she nonchalantly stated, “I ran after it and it rolled back over”. The team was so proud that she was able to get her sled started, back on the track, and finish the race.

Brooklyn was her usual determined self this weekend. The rain and soggy weather did nothing to dampen her drive for the checkered flag. While this was not her favorite track, she rose to the challenge of a technical track with many top five motos and solid finals. She took the win overall in the Transition Girls class on Sunday which was a great boost to her confidence.
Brooklyn’s highlight of the weekend was having the opportunity to race in the Junior Girls 14-17 class in the afternoon program. With a packed morning race schedule consisting of Novice B, Transition mixed, and Transition Girls, adding Junior Girls was difficult for racers. However, as soon as Brooklyn heard Junior Girls was running Sunday afternoon, she gave her dad “the look” and it wasn’t long before she was signed up. That race was certainly an experience! Brooklyn raced hard and fast all the way to the podium with a third place finish and was included in the podium awards at the end of the day.

Karkoulas Sisters Racing Promotes Women in Motorsports
Snowcross Racing in Timmins Concludes with Positive Outcomes
Oakwood, ON (March 7, 2017) – Karkoulas Sisters Racing (KSR) packed up and headed north to find bright blue skies, frigid cold temps, and most importantly, the white snow that seems to be eluding the team this season. This past weekend, Timmins, Ontario, was the location for the Eclipse Financial Cup, comprised of rounds 9 and 10 of the Canadian Snowcross Racing Association (CSRA) circuit.
With races in London and Barrie cancelled due to unseasonably warm temperatures and lack of snow, the team was only too happy to make the seven hour drive north to ride a fast, tight track for a weekend of action packed competition. Like any race weekend, the team had its share of ups and downs, and successes and disappointments. However, in the end, with strong family support and an incredible show of solidarity and backing from fellow track families and competitors, the team leaves Timmins behind with a few lessons learned and the drive to arrive in Kitchener (next scheduled race) with positive attitudes and optimism.

Timmins saw Zoe bring her best racing yet! Although she didn’t sweep the podium, it was clear she elevated her riding capabilities on her Brigg’s sled with her best finishes to date. Zoe also rode her Polaris 120 Stock 2 to its absolute max, and although the team worked tirelessly on the sled, it still wasn’t enough to capture the checkered. None-the-less, Zoe was happy to collect her trophy on Sunday for a respectable fourth place finish in the final.
DAKOTA #501
Another race weekend of steadfast racing is under Dakota’s belt (or should we say TekVest?). She was able to overcome some psychological stress of missing an important gymnastics competition to race this weekend with her usual style and dependability. Any true racer knows motorsports racing can be just as psychological as physical if not more, so her ability to overcome the stress was admirable. Saturday saw Dakota on the losing end of some rubbing in Transition girls that sent her over a berm, yet the next moto she was able to move past the incident and finish third. In the same class on Sunday, she finished in second place. The real testament to how far Dakota has come in her racing occurs each time she lines up for her Novice A final. Previously Dakota has struggled with intimidation related to racing in the mixed classes, yet the last few races she has been the only girl left pulling up to the line. She has been able to overcome her feelings of intimidation, and has found her confidence as a racer and competitor while giving her all in each race.

The -30 degree Celsius temps didn’t stop Brooklyn from arriving in Timmins with her usual drive and focus. The term “pin it to win it” takes on whole new meaning to Brooklyn, sometimes in her favor and sometimes not, which was demonstrated in her second moto in Transition Girls on Sunday. Sitting in second place on the last lap, Brooklyn challenged her limits and unfortunately overshot a corner which cost her dearly.
With a head full of mixed thoughts and emotions, “what if’s”, and incredible disappointment, she got on her Ski-Doo 600RS again to finish out the weekend with solid racing in her Transition 8-13 class. This was not an easy feat with emotions and pressure at an all-time high.
Overall, Brooklyn had a stand-out weekend with multiple moto wins and highest number of laps led (in more than one class). As a result, the team will be donating one dollar per lap led to the Laps for Muscular Dystrophy program.
In addition to those achievements, this weekend saw race winners interviewed by the announcer, Dave Bell, giving Brooklyn many opportunities to promote young girls in racing. Winning several Novice B moto’s, as the only girl left in the class, was the perfect opportunity to show race fans and future little girls in the stands that a racer is a racer no matter what gender. This was also a great opportunity to represent Ski-Doo as the only Ski-Doo snowmobile amongst a class full of Arctic Cats. Brooklyn was able to give a shout out to sponsors and affiliated Team members from Bailey Motorsports, a team of which had many of their own successes and interviews this weekend. KSR was thrilled to see many of the team members from Bailey Motorsports track side cheering them on and showing immense support.
Karkoulas Sisters Racing cannot thank Backcountry Motorsports Media enough for their support and constant presence on and off the track. No matter which direction the team turned, there was a good chance a camera was pointed their way capturing moments that will forever be cherished.

Karkoulas Sisters Racing Celebrates Family with Top Finishes
Oakwood, ON (February 22, 2017) Karkoulas Sisters Racing (KSR) couldn’t think of a better way to spend the Family Day holiday weekend, than at the snocross track surrounded by friends, family and fans. On February 18 and 19, the team spent the weekend doing what they love, together, under the sunny skies at Georgian Downs Raceway in Barrie, Ontario.
This past weekend marked the fourth race of the Canadian Snowcross Racing Association (CSRA) event schedule. The Royal Distributing Cup was certainly a race to see. With mild temperatures and bright blue skies, the tone was set for a little more laid back pit area but fierce competition out on the track for KSR racers, Brooklyn (age 12), Dakota (age 10), and Zoe (age 7)
ZOE #502
Zoe started the weekend out as the first KSR rider to hit the track. She practiced hard and was ready for the light to turn green so she could test out her dad’s hard work and time spent on her Polaris 120 stock 2 snowmobile. The firm, long track was in mint condition and saw Zoe go 2-2 in her heats and fifth in her final. Her real shining moment, however, was when she was one of many kids in the Briggs final that took a nasty spill. 
Due to a delay in the program, the kids raced their finals after the Pro’s had been out so the track was a little too much for the 120 riders with numerous crashes occurring. Zoe was no exception, finding herself nose diving after a steep jump. She completed the race and returned right to the line for her back to back line up, enduring a bruised hip and wrist like a true racer champ and pulled off her fifth place in Stock 2. The incident did not deter Zoe, who was eager and ready to race again on her Briggs Sunday morning.
DAKOTA #501
Dakota started the weekend by shedding her balaclava and mittens, and instead donning motocross gloves and tinted Dragon goggles. Smooth but fierce riding all weekend long saw Dakota place in the top six in Novice A, top five heats for Transition 8-13 (mixed) with eighth and ninth in finals. Dakota rode hard and consistent to earn her third place finish in transition girls. Smart line choices and strong maneuvering of her Ski-Doo 600RS had her exhibiting some of her best riding ever.

Brooklyn took the track with her usual focus and determination lending to strong heats including a first and second in the highly competitive Transition 8-13 mixed class.
Transition Girls was one win away from a clean sweep but still first overall both days. Many laps were lead, which resulting in a one dollar per lap donation to the Laps for Muscular Dystrophy (“Laps for MD”) program. Brooklyn aims to strengthen her confidence in achieving more air time smoothly and safely in the upcoming weeks.
A late start saw the CSRA race program running behind schedule which had the girls halt their racing efforts after their heats and motos until the feature afternoon program was completed. This delay in racing afforded the girls the perfect opportunity to kick their feet up with friends and take in the main events. They were able to cheer on affiliated Bailey Motorsports team members as they were tearing up the track with multiple hard earned respectable finishes. Pro Open saw two Bailey Motorsports riders that can surely teach KSR racers a thing or two about grabbing air, Stale Eggen #799 and Mitch King #18 taking fourth and fifth respectively. Issac St.Onge #117 once again dominated the Sport 600 class with smooth, steady riding making snowcross racing look effortless. Ryan Hunt #729 secured a huge win in the Pro Lite Stock charging the track with fierce resolve.

Team Success in Sault Ste. Marie
Round Two of Snowcross Racing Results in Multiple Top Finishes
Oakwood, ON (February 7, 2017) Karkoulas Sisters Racing (KSR) made the long trek to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, to complete in the Highland Ford Can-Am Cup this past weekend. This marked the second race of the Canadian Snowcross Racing Association (CSRA) event schedule. After a few weeks off from racing, KSR racers, Brooklyn (age 12), Dakota (age 10), and Zoe (age 7) were eager to get back out on the track. The Yards Events Centre was a smaller, tighter track that certainly tested KSR racers handling and maneuvering of their Bailey Motorsports Ski-Doo 600 and Ski-Doo 600RS snowmobiles. After multiple practice days at The Compound Muskoka in Bracebridge, KSR racers were ready to take on the challenging track!

Although she was feeling a bit under the weather, Zoe insisted on racing both days. She had some fun on her Briggs snowmobile, and gradually became more comfortable each time she raced it. In the Stock 2 race, Zoe pushed her Polaris 120 as hard as she could, and in one moto was sitting in the top 3. Unfortunately she had to maneuver around a roll over which caused her to lose a few positions. At the end of the weekend, Zoe was all smiles holding her plaque and trophy for two top five finishes in Stock 2.
DAKOTA #501
Despite the track being rough and at times causing multiple collisions, Dakota was able to push through that with perseverance and determination. She was smooth and consistent in her riding each and every race. Her highlight of the weekend was earning second place in the Transition Girls class on Sunday, in addition to a third place finish on Saturday. Even after seeing her older sister, Brooklyn #500, go over a high berm, she stayed focused and raced her own race to achieve podium both days in the Transition Girls class. Dakota’s goals for the next Race at Georgian Down’s is to hone in on her starts to afford her a hole shot advantage.
BROOKLYN #500
Brooklyn took on this tricky track with vengeance. Going into her second moto of Transition Girls on Saturday, Brooklyn was a little too eager and for the first time in her racing career she jumped the start. The blue flag was waved, so she obeyed the rules and pulled over to allow all racers to pass by. 
Did this dissuade her? Not a chance! When that last rider passed, Brooklyn pinned her Ski-Doo RS and was more electrified and determined than ever to make up for the lost time. With outstanding lap times she passed each rider one by one right up to the last lap where she incredibly made an inside pass to take top spot and bring out the checkered flag! It was an exhilarating race for not only her but for her proud Mom and Dad, who were watching from the pits.
Brooklyn then raced her Novice B class which was included in the feature program under the lights on Saturday night. With the snow falling, the Sault Ste. Marie International Bridge in the background, and Brooklyn’s adrenaline pumping from her last race, she raced her heart out. On her Ski-Doo Sport 600, Brooklyn raced several motos which results in a top five line pick for the final. In the final race, and as the only female racer on the track, Brooklyn was a fierce challenger. She raced right along the top competitors, and just missed the podium with an incredible hard earned fourth place finish.
Between Novice B races, the girls were excited to have the opportunity to watch team members of Bailey Motorsports take the track. Some of the highlights they were able to see included Isaac St.Onge #117 dominating the Sport 600 classes all weekend. Sunday saw Mitchell King #18 shoot off the line and finish fourth at the checkered flag in the Pro Open. Teammate Stale Eggen #799 had top 3 motos and rounded out top five in the same class. Bailey Motorsports was well represented in Pro Lite with Ryan Hunt #729 earning a fourth in the final.

Successful Season Opener for Karkoulas Sisters Racing
Top Finishes for Racers at Rouyn-Noranda
Oakwood, ON (January 16, 2017) – Racers from across Canada excitedly arrived in Rouyn-Noranda, QC, this past weekend for the International Snowcross Grand Prix. The weekend marked the first event of the Canadian Snowcross Racing Association (CSRA) schedule, and drew thousands of fans to the track for fast-paced, ski to ski racing.
Karkoulas Sisters Racing (KSR) racers, Brooklyn (age 12), Dakota (age 10), and Zoe (age 7) arrived Friday night to drop the trailer, go through technical inspection and prepare for early morning practice on Saturday, January 14. Transition practice went well, leaving Brooklyn and Dakota in good spirits and with ample time to catch up with fellow teammates afterwards. Zoe had open practice all day on a small oval track off to the side of the main track. The weekend was brisk and chilly, but this didn’t phrase KSR racers who kept warm in their Off-Road Vixens beanies and Choko Design snowmobile gear.

Sunday was the day racers had been waiting for what seemed like forever. Dark and frosty conditions didn’t stop Zoe #502 from taking her chance to practice on the main track. After several laps in -23 degree Celsius temperature, she still didn’t want to get off the track. Her dedication paid off when she was able to step up onto the podium and receive her third place trophy in the Stock two class. She also secured the sixth spot in her first ever Briggs class. Moments after receiving the award, Zoe eagerly scoured the pits for her idol, pro-racer with Bailey Motorsports, Stale Eggen, finally locating him at an autograph session for fans. The moment she showed him her award was heartwarming, and a true testament to the importance of mentorship in the snowcross industry.
DAKOTA #501
Dakota had a solid season opener. In the Transition Girls class, she bolted off the start on her No. 501 Ski-Doo 600 RS, and was right on Brooklyn’s tail in the moto 1 race. They were 1:2 for a few laps, until Dakota hit a bit too close on the inside edge and went over the berm. She bravely untangled herself from underneath the sled, jumped up and started to rock the 450 pound sled in an attempt to get it trackside down again. Her sheer determination is the foundation of a great racer. Her second moto saw her cross the finish line in third place, with a fourth place overall. In her Transition 8-13 class, she went 6:4 in her moto’s earning her front row final where she secured a ninth place finish.
In her Novice A class she rode hard, and made the front row final, and had a solid race in the main race. The team is awaiting lap times in the main race to confirm final standings.
BROOKLYN #500
Brooklyn showed her competitive edge throughout all of her races on Sunday. She had amazing starts and a few solid holeshots, which saw her take the lead in Transition Girls. She finished first in both heats and finished first overall. In the Transition 8-13 race, Brooklyn raced head to head and placed in the top three in both heats, then placed fifth in the final.
This year, Brooklyn wanted some extra seat time so she decided to jump on her sisters Ski-Doo Sport 600, and take it for a rip in the Novice B class. Although it handles very differently than her RS, Brooklyn was still able to go 4:2 in her heats, placing fifth in the final. Congratulations to Brooklyn for leading nine laps, resulting in a donation to the ‘Laps4MD program’ befitting Muscular Dystrophy Canada.

Two Teams, One Goal Puts Ski-Doo on Top
Oakwood, ON (September 12, 2016) – Karkoulas Sisters Racing (KSR) is thrilled to announce that they will be working closely with Bailey Motorsports for the upcoming 2017 Canadian Snowcross Racing Association (CSRA) season.
The all-female race team composed of three young sisters is excited to join forces with the professional snowcross team, with the primary goal centered on supporting up and coming youth in the sport.
Established in 1999, Bailey Motorsports is an extreme sports team that focuses on the sport of snowcross. The team consists of five primary riders: Ryan Hunt, Christian Sarracini, Stale Eggen, Mitch King and Isaac St. Onge. Bailey Motorsports will also support the racing efforts of young Eric and Christian Williams. With 19 championships and numerous podium finishes over the years, Bailey Motorsports is well established in the snowcross industry, earning the title of CSRA ‘Team of the Year’ and representing Ski-Doo as their Canadian Super Team.
Now, Bailey Motorsports team members look forward to mentoring and supporting the next generation of racers this year. With 38 years of combined snowcross racing experience, the affiliation of two like-minded teams couldn’t be a better fit.
“We are really looking forward to getting back to racing this winter. A lot has happened over the summer, and continuing our relationship with KSR is definitely a highlight. The Karkoulas sisters are all talented racers and this young family has a flair for promotion. We can’t wait to see them on the track again!” said Stuart Hunt, Owner of Bailey Motorsports.
With the 2017 season quickly approaching, the Karkoulas Sisters are hard at work preparing for what is anticipated to be another epic year. Support from Bailey Motorsports will help them reach some of their goals this season. “We’re excited to align ourselves with such a solid team. Brooklyn, Dakota and Zoe have proven that they are tough contenders in the series, and are ready to take their racing to the next level. Our affiliation with Bailey Motorsports will help with this,” said Troy Karkoulas, KSR Team Manager.

Successful Season Finale for Karkoulas Sisters Racing
Team Wins Two National Championships at Horseshoe Valley Resort
Oakwood, ON (March 31, 2016) – Under bright skies at the beautiful Horseshoe Valley Resort in Barrie, the Karkoulas Sisters Racing (KSR) team put on their gear for one last weekend of battling for championship points on the track. This past weekend had the team, composed of Brooklyn (11), Dakota (9) and Zoe (6), racing three days, totaling 45 races on two different tracks. With the added pressures of close points and emotions associated with the end of the Canadian Snowcross Racing Association (CSRA) season, KSR racers had to work harder to enter the weekend with a positive mindset. In the end, their hard work and perseverance paid off with two National Championships won, along with a top-three position.
ZOE #502
Zoe has earned top spot in Stock 1, in an incredibly tight point race. The top riders fought hard weekend after weekend with top positions shifting back and forth race after race. Zoe entered this final weekend seven points behind the leader, with her sights set on first place overall. Taking the spot at the top of the podium on Friday and Saturday was enough to earn her the title. While she was racing hard for a clean sweep in the class this past weekend, her sled was not pulling the loose snow in warm temperatures as well as she wanted it to.
At only six years old, Zoe’s success doesn’t end with the one Championship finish. She was able to achieve a third place final in the Stock 2 Championship category (ages 6-10).
DAKOTA #501
Dakota also made her own personal history this weekend after achieving a podium finish each day in the Transition Girls class with third place finals. Dakota really started putting the pressure on this weekend, with this being her very first year on a full size sled having achieved multiple third place finishes, she is looking forward to continuing her success next season.
Novice A class did not go as well as the team had hoped after a roll over in Friday’s final race, and another in Saturday’s final. Dakota was determined to complete the final Sunday with no mishaps. She rode smart and smooth, and finished the season with a successful last race, placing ninth.

Brooklyn continued her trend of great holeshots and smooth, consistent riding. She found herself out front in Transition Girls for most of the races and brought home 1-2-1 final standings for the weekend. Her biggest accomplishment was earning the title of Transition Girls (ages 10-13) class Champion.
The season was a great one, filled with triumphs, challenges and of course, lots of fun. The Karkoulas’ sister’s energy, positivity, and passion for snowcross was evident at every single race. As Canada’s only all-female snowcross team composed of three sisters, the team certainly received a great deal of media coverage throughout the season, with a nomination for ‘Athlete of the Week’ by City News Toronto, media coverage on CHEX TV, and local newspaper coverage. The team has consistently focused on supporting the same message: that girls can do anything they put their mind to. Using the slogan, ‘It’s not if we can, it’s when”, the girls hope that by sharing their story and love of snowcross, they will in turn support more female racers to get involved with snowcross.

Timmins Race Weekend
[POST RACE UPDATE]
Action Packed Weekend of Snowcross Racing in Timmins
Oakwood, ON (March 15, 2016) – Karkoulas Sisters Racing (KSR) started off the March break in the best possible way, under bright sun with a twenty foot base of soft white powder! This past weekend, the team traveled to Timmins, Ontario, for the Eclipse Financial Snowcross Pro Challenge. The event marked the fifth race weekend of the Canadian Snowcross Racing Association 2016 season schedule. With consistent riding and goals set, the team composed of Brooklyn (11), Dakota (10) and Zoe (9), delivered once again with excellent individual and team results. See below for team results.
ZOE #502
Zoe returned home with her arms full of awards after pushing her 120 Polaris snowmobile to the max. She is testing the limits and manoeuvering her sled better each race weekend. Rarely letting off the throttle, she is powering in and out of corners and choosing wise lines for passing opportunities. It is wonderful to see her developing a true racers mind. Moving forward, she wants to work on getting around lap traffic so she isn’t held up during the race.
DAKOTA #501
Dakota has found her flare for air time. Each time she hits the track she becomes more and more comfortable, and less reserved approaching table top jumps. This weekend her goal was to improve her starts off the line. She is learning the art of keeping her RPM’s up and pinning it on the green. She definitely made leaps and bounds on this goal and will continue to work on not getting intimidated when she is ski to ski off the line with other competitors. Her biggest achievements were in the Novice A class with top qualifying finishes.
BROOKLYN #500
Brooklyn entered the weekend with moto specific goals. Since the points system is set up to weight second motos higher, she focused on clearing her mind and working through some of the pressures of competition to achieve improved second moto finishes. The competition in transition girls is intense with the top three racers nose to nose during races, so the team was thrilled when Brooklyn was able to meet her goal of advancing in the class this past weekend. The highlight of her weekend was earning the Kids Holeshot award, presented by Eclipse Financial.

Karkoulas Sisters Race in front of Hometown Crowd
Snowcross Team Brings Home Multiple Top Finishes at Lindsay Fairgrounds
Oakwood, ON (February 23, 2016) – Karkoulas Sisters Racing (KSR) just finished a successful weekend of hometown racing at the Lindsay Exhibition Fairgrounds. The Amsoil Kawartha Cup National Snowcross event marked the third race weekend for KSR, and was the fourth event in the Canadian Snowcross Racing Association 2016 season schedule.
Supported by family and friends, Brooklyn (11), Dakota (10) and Zoe (9) had a great weekend of fun and competition. They had many top finishes in their motos including a few first place finishes. Track conditions were not ideal, but the team persevered and made the best of the less than favourable weather and track conditions over the weekend.
ZOE #502
Zoe had a breakout weekend in the Stock 2 class, earning her first-ever first place final in that category. She had two successful motos on Sunday with first place finishes in both, earning top spot on the podium. Stock 1 just didn’t seem to get off the line as fast as she would like but she definitely made up time and positions once in the thick of the race. See below for full weekend results.
DAKOTA #501
Dakota was thrilled to get a podium finish of third place in Transition Girls class on Saturday. She was particularly happy about some air time she was getting on a certain part of the track, putting her new shocks to the test! Dakota’s goal is to continue to gain confidence and not be intimidated off the line in Novice A, aiming for a quicker hole shot.
BROOKLYN #500
Brooklyn had a very fast weekend pulling off some of her best lap times and finishes in both her classes. Her highlights of the weekend were her first two races on Sunday. She started the day with a first place finish in Transition Girls with a little cushion of time. Next she had her best finish to date in the Transition 10-13 class with a second in moto 1 and some very impressive lap times. She rode smooth and hard and looked great on the track.
